Contents Protocol is a decentralized content protocol from Korea that allows its Content Providers, the Platform, and its Users to maintainably coexist and cooperate. Essentially, the protocol provides an exchange agreement for content providers, content distribution platforms and users to create decentralized premium content.
In this context, content providers refer to the creators and rights holder of content that is provided to the platform for a charge to the platforms in the form of license fees, and content providers refer to the major users of the "data" provided by the Platform and the consumers in the ecosystem. Premium content refers to content people pay to consume, and it encompasses all types of content, including video content like movies and TV series, music, comics and books.
Contents Protocol was created by WATCHA Inc, a well-known digital content service provider in Japan and South Korea. It is run by CEO and Co-Founder Park Taehoon and Co-Founder Alex Won. To date, it has raised its first corporate round Of funding on November 5, 2018.
As of January 25 2019, Contents Protocol Token (CPT) was officially listed on UPbit, one of the major cryptocurrency exchanges in South Korea that has over 2.5 million users with a daily maximum transaction volume of approximately 12 trillion KRW. Its trading pair is currently CPT/KRW.
